The Premier League Sack race (continued)...

Just when everyone thinks West Ham manager Avram Grant is ready for the tin tack (Cockney rhyming slang for sack), his supposed replacement, Martin O'Neill reportedly gets cold feet. Result? A stay of execution. I guess Grant should ask the West Ham fans for his scarf back (he threw it into the crowd after the 3-0 defeat against Arsenal)...

Speaking of Martin O'Neill, he must be shaking his head in disbelief at the thought of Aston Villa splashing out over £20m on Darren Bent to stop their slide into relegation - the same football club O'Neill quit in March 2010 (after five seasons in charge), following a supposed disagreement with chairman Randy Lerner over acquiring funds to reinforce the side's attempt to break into the top four!

Football's a funny old game....
