Congrats are in order for Serena Williams, who easily won the Australian Open title this morning, destroying Russian number one seed Maria Sharapova 6-1, 6-2 in a mere one hour two minutes. This is the third Aussie title for Serena (which also takes her Grand Slam tally to eight).
One in the eye for Serena's critics too, who didn't believe she was a threat after an injury-riddled season. Serena will now move from a lowly 81st to 14th in the world tennis rankings next week.
Oh - and I liked her victory jig too.....you go, girl!!!
