And the next Liverpool FC owner is...

Was disappointed with "Money Never Sleeps" - but I''ll cover my frustration at the movie later on.

In the meantime...

Following the successful conclusion of High Court proceedings today, the Boards of Directors of Kop Football and Kop Holdings met tonight and resolved to complete the sale of Liverpool FC to New England Sports Ventures (NESV).

Thus ends the turbulent co-ownership of Tom Hicks and George Gillett after three-and-a-half years at Liverpool FC, as the previous owners dropped their plans to sue Royal Bank of Scotland and the club for approx $1.6billion (£1 bn) in damages...but vowed they would return to fight in the British law courts
Liverpool takeover completed by US company NESV

While I have little sympathy for Hicks & Gillett, I'm somewhat bemused that the new owner of Liverpool FC has already refused to make any commitment to (much needed) major investments in new players and a new stadium.
