Polish-born actress Ingrid Pitt, best known for starring in Hammer horror classics The Vampire Lovers and Countess Dracula, has died at the age of 73.
The star passed away in a south London hospital after collapsing a few days ago.

A couple of years ago, I posted my appreciation for the late Ms Pitt in this blog, so her death is sad news indeed. Doubly sad, considering film-maker Roy Ward Baker, who directed her in The Vampire Lovers movie died some weeks earlier.
