Congrats (of sorts) to Wayne Rooney - a 49ft effigy of the Manchester United striker, complete with green Shrek-style ears, a five-year contract under one arm, and a holdall of cash in his other hand will go up in flames at the Edenbridge Bonfire Society's annual event in Kent.
It's been estimated that approx 15,000 people will turn up to see the Rooney effigy (dressed in full football kit), burn on Saturday.

As I recall, last year Katie Price was selected by the Edenbridge Bonfire Society, and previous effigies included Cherie Blair, ex-PM Gordon Brown and Russell Brand - so Wayne's in "good" company...
