Samantha is 20 years old and addicted to tanning. She goes to three different tanning salons a day because they are not permitted to let her tan more than once a day by law. O yea she has NO JOB, No MONEY, and Does NOT go to school!! WoW!! The worst part is I know people like this and they don't think
anything it wrong with them...
She started tanning when she was 13. She also tans outside a lot, using vegetable oil to darken her tan.
Samantha visited a dermatologist while on the show, and he informed her that tanning in a tanning bed increases her chances of developing a melanoma by 75%. When he examined her he pointed out that she has signs of wrinkling that he usually sees in 40 year-old women.
When Samantha speaks with a therapist, she describes the tanning bed as a warm, quiet safe place. Nobody's going to bother her there. So it seems that it's not just about the color she gets, but the peace of being in the booth. Samantha seems to have no genuine desire to stop tanning.
She will end up like This woman in 15 years!
