Work commitments have kept me away from this blog, otherwise I would have commented on the recent deaths of Elizabeth Taylor, Fred Titmuss and Loleatta Holloway.
But I find the news about the death of Elisabeth Sladen particularly sad. As Sarah Jane Smith in the 1970s 'Doctor Who' series with Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker, she was part of my youth, and it was great to see her reprise the role in the revamped 'Doctor Who' and her own spin-off show, 'The Sarah Jane Adventures'.
Along with Nicholas Courtney (aka Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart), who died in February this year, Elisabeth Sladen's passing leaves a hole in the Doctor Who mythology and will be a painful loss.
