Two games, eight goals, not bad...

I'm still in holiday-mode, but had to write a few words about Arsenal...

Obviously I was ecstatic with Arsenal's 6-1 drubbing over Everton in the first game of the 2009/10 season last Saturday, and last night's 2-0 victory against Celtic in the first leg of the Champions League play-off was equally enjoyable (although I'll admit we had lady luck on our side as with both goals).
The signing of Thomas Vermaelen has been inspired thus far, and Gallas and Vermaelen were both impressive last night, but let's not get carried away after just a couple of (admittedly great) matches. These were only the opening salvos of a long campaign, and Arsenal will need to keep strong, especially during the winter months.

Overall though, for a season where I wasn't expecting much, it's getting bloody difficult trying not to feel somewhat optimistic, particularly after reading nothing but doom and gloom on Arsenal's chances for retaining their Premiership top four spot and qualification for the Champions League...

Come on you Gunners!!
Celtic 0 - 2 Arsenal
