The Westminster gravy train (continued)...

Sir Thomas Legg has completed his audit of MPs' expenses and the Director of Public Prosecutions has announced that three MPs and one peer will face criminal charges over their expense claims. The politicians face charges of false accounting under section 17 of the Theft Act 1968. If found guilty, they face a maximum sentence of seven years' imprisonment.

Sir Thomas has also ordered 373 MPs to repay more than £1.1m related to second home expense claims since 2004.

Having been found with their fingers in the public till, paying back some money and bleating about making "honest mistakes" will not be the end of this sorry affair. The damage to Westminster and British politics has already been done.
The electorate hasn't forgotten this scandal, nor will they forgive being totally and utterly ripped off by a large majority of these "honourable" members.
