Malcolm McLaren, the former manager of punk group the Sex Pistols, has died aged 64.
Mr McLaren set up a clothes shop and label with designer Vivienne Westwood on London's King's Road in the 1970s and was later a businessman and performer in his own right. He also managed a number of other bands, including the New York Dolls and Bow Wow Wow.

What can you say about a man who wanted anarchy in the UK, yet was also branded a manipulating opportunist? McLaren had his flaws, but he knew when the time was right to give a moribund music scene the kick up the ass it sorely needed (Lord knows today's music scene could do with another kick).
RIP.
