See you at the (World Cup) party in 2018 (NOT!)

England miss out on the right to host the 2018 World Cup after football's governing body Fifa picks Russia to stage the event for the first time.

Prime Minister David Cameron, who lobbied strongly for the bid, said the outcome was "bitterly disappointing" and paid tribute to all those involved in the effort.

Meanwhile, Qatar was chosen to host the 2022 World Cup after beating competition from Australia, the United States, Japan and South Korea.

Well I wasn't that bothered, to be honest (see previous posts)...but the sight of our Prime Minister and Prince William vainly sucking up to Fifa was stomach-churning (as for Becks, stick to what you do best - plugging your perfume).
