Out of Africa (continued)...

England coach Fabio Capello has demanded that the controversial Capello Index be removed from the Internet after insisting he had not seen or approved of its release.
The 'Capello Index' ranked all the players at the recent World Cup, based on their performances. For the England players who went to South Africa, Jermain Defoe emerged with the highest rating - 62.47, while Robert Green finished lowest with 51.67.
Fabio Capello demands removal of Capello Index

Capello Index - England Players:

  • Jermain Defoe - 62.47
  • Shaun Wright-Phillips - 61.09
  • Steven Gerrard - 60.98
  • John Terry - 60.48
  • Matthew Upson - 60.21
  • Emile Heskey - 60.15
  • Ashley Cole - 59.58
  • James Milner - 59.40
  • David James - 59.28
  • Jamie Carragher - 59.04
  • Wayne Rooney - 58.87
  • Frank Lampard - 58.58
  • Aaron Lennon - 57.64
  • Gareth Barry - 57.50
  • Ledley King - 57.50
  • Glen Johnson - 57.18
  • Joe Cole - 55.45
  • Robert Green - 51.67

I do agree that the much-maligned Heskey was better than Rooney in the 2010 World Cup (which if anything, just shows how bad Rooney's world cup was).
But in my opinion, you don't need Don Fabio's ranking system for the England team - the following pic should suffice....
