Entertainer Patrick Swayze has died, aged 57, of pancreatic cancer. He was best known for the films "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost".
He went public about his illness last year, but continued working while undergoing treatment, starring in US TV show "The Beast".
I was never a fan of "Dirty Dancing" or "Ghost" (sorry), but in today's tabloid muck-raking culture, it says a lot about Patrick Swayze that he was considered a genuine, decent, all-round nice guy who passed away too soon.
