A victim of her own legislation?
Tongan Loloahi Tapui, who was working illegally for Attorney General Baroness Scotland of Asthal as a housekeeper has been arrested and questioned, according to police.
Ms Tapui, 27, and her husband, Alexander Zivancevic, were arrested by UK Border Agency staff at their home in West London on Wednesday. Police said they were arrested over alleged immigration offences and both bailed until next month.
Meanwhile Labour MP Stephen Hesford has resigned as a parliamentary aide in protest at the attorney general staying in office. Lady Scotland's job is under pressure after she was ordered to pay a £5,000 fine by the UK Border Agency.
Baroness's housekeeper arrested
Lady Scotland claims she hadn't committed a criminal act, but has accepted her "administrative penalty" of £5,000.
Unfortunately Lady Scotland's problem is that she's the law officer who helped design the very immigration legislation that she breached. Of all people, our attorney general knew the consequences of breaking the same immigration laws she presented before parliament.
Nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced.
